Farid Menaa has completed his PhD with Summa Cum Laude in 2003 from French Energy Atomic Authority (CEA/CEN-Paris), French Ministry of Defense, and postdoctoral studies from Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center/Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute-USA (2004-2007, Oncology), University of Wurzburg-Germany (2007-2009, Dermatology and Stem Cells), Unicamp-Brazil (2010-2012). He is international consultant in cancer Nano medicine, gerontology, cosmetology, food nanotechnology and regenerative medicine. He is also the executive Director of Fluorotronics, Inc., a chemical and nanotech company, and co-pioneered the Carbone-Fluorine related analytical methods for biomedical and pharmaceutical (nano-) applications. He has published numerous papers, serves as an editorial board member in reputed journals, and co-organized several international events on Nano medicine and Nanobiotechnology.

Vladimir Torchilin graduated from the Moscow University with MS in Chemistry, and also obtained there his Ph.D. (1971) and D.Sc. (1981) in Polymer Chemistry, Chemical Kinetics and Catalysis, and Chemistry of Physiologically Active Compounds. In years 1968-1973, Torchilin made his research at the Chemical Department of Moscow State University. In 1974-1990 he was with the Institute of Experimental Cardiology, Russian Cardiology Research Center, where he founded the Laboratory of Enzyme Engineering of which he was a Head in 1981-1990. In 1991 Torchilin joined Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School as the Head of Chemistry Program, Center for Imaging and Pharmaceutical Research, and Associate Professor of Radiology. Since 1998 Dr. Torchilin is with Northeastern University. In 1998-2008 he served as a Distinguished Professor and Chairman of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Since 2005, he is also the Director of The Center for Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and Nanomedicine. He also wrote more than 150 reviews and book chapters, wrote and edited 12 books including "Immobilized Enzymes in Medicine", "Handbook of Targeted Delivery of Imaging Agents", “Liposomes: A Practical Approach”, “Biomedical Aspects of Drug Targeting”, “Delivery of Protein and Peptide Drugs in Cancer”, “Nanoparticulates as Drug Carriers”, “Multifunctional Pharmaceutical Nanocarriers”, and 4 volume set “Handbook of Nanobiomedical Research”, made over 250 invited lectures and seminars and holds more than 40 patents. He is also a Co-Editor of a novel book series on Biomedical Nanotechnology with Pan Stanford Publishing (World Scientific). According to Google Scholar, his H-index is 97 with >47,000 citations. His commitment to the engineering of drug delivery and targeting systems is also reflected in the numerous grants and contracts awarded to him by the NIH and various industries. His total funding over the years exceeds $30 M.

Dr. Huang founded Ascendia in 2012 after fifteen years of pharmaceutical R&D experience at Pfizer, Baxter, AstraZeneca, and Roche. He has led the formulation development efforts for the successful transition of several oral and parenteral dosage forms from discovery through formulation, manufacturing, technical transfer and ultimately commercialization. Dr. Huang holds a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia (formerly Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Sciences) where he worked with Joseph B. Schwartz.

Randall Bjork is a neurologist from North Dakota who has been in practice for over three decades, mostly in Colorado, emphasizing humane and ethical dementia care. Twenty years ago, he advocated economy-of-scale dementia care with the concept of Lotus Health, which he will present here at our Dubai conference. He was involved in dementia treatment research from the early days of Cognex. He has conducted research with Aricept treatment and MRS evaluation in Down-Alzheimer patients. Dr. Bjork is co-author of a paper being presented here by his Swedish colleague, Dr. Lindau, from The University of Stockholm. He is now involved in a multi-center ketamine treatment protocol of treatment-resistant depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. He has lectured worldwide, contributed to the literature of cardiac arrest, stroke, myoclonus, Alzheimer disease, prionoses and has recently published a children's book, The ABCs of You, Volume I, available on Amazon. He has supervised mission medical work in Costa Rica and Nepal. He is an avid motorcyclist, restaurateur, cancer survivor and retired helicopter pilot.

Fenniri received all his degrees from the Université de Strasbourg, France. After postdoctoral training at the Scripps Research Institute, CA, USA, he moved to Purdue University, IN, USA, where he initiated his independent academic career, and established the Purdue Laboratory for Chemical Nanotechnology (1999). In 2003, He joined the National Research Council and the University of Alberta (Edmonton, AB, Canada) as Professor of Chemistry (2003-2013). Fenniri is currently Professor of Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering at Northeastern University, Boston, MA, USA. Fenniri’s contributions appeared in over 220 publications, 20 patents and patent applications, and over 450 contributed national and international conference papers. Fenniri has also lectured extensively around the globe and he has been an invited professor at several institutes and universities.

Dr. Hossain is a Bio Nanomedicine and Cancer Nanotechnology interdisciplinary scientist. He is current working as a Faculty in Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Bio-manufacturing Research Institute and Technology Enterprise (BRITE), North Carolina Central University, USA. He received doctorate degree in Applied Biosciences are of Cancer Bio-Nanotechnology from University of Arkansas at Little Rock, USA. Dr. Hossain also earned three Master’s degree from USA: M.S. in Applied Biosciences, M.S. in Integrated Sciences and Mathematics, 2012 (Major in Biology and Chemistry), UALR and an M. Engr. in Biological and Agricultural Engineering from University of Idaho. His research interests are focused on Bio Nanomedicine, Cancer Bio Nanotechnology; Bio-Pharmaceutical, Medical Diagnostics, siRNA/microRNA and Biosensors. His laboratory employs a multi-disciplinary approach. He has served on a number of journal Editorial Boards.

Professor Gregory Gregoriadis is the Founder (1997) of Xenetic Biosciences Inc and creator of the company's polysialic acid and liposome technologies. He was a Board member, and CSO (1997-2015), Head of the Centre for Drug Delivery Research(1990-2001) at University College London, and Head of the Liposomes Group at the Medical Research Council (1972-1990). In 1971 he introduced (with B. Ryman) liposomes for drug and vaccine delivery and, in 1991, introduced polysialic acid to improve the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of protein and peptide drugs. He has published nearly 400 research papers, reviews, articles and book chapters, and 27 volumes on drug and vaccine delivery. Gregory's work has been honoured with the Controlled Release Society Founders Award (1994), the A.D. Bangham FRS Life Achievement Award (1995), a Fellowship in the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (1998), a Fellowship in the Controlled Release Society(2013), a DSc from the University of London (2001), the Journal of Drug Targeting Life Achievement Award (2008), a Fellowship in the Academy of Pharmaceutical Scientists (2008), and the Founders Award of Liposome Research Days (2010), all for exceptional contributions to the field of drug and vaccine delivery. Gregory's seminal contributions are also reflected in his founding (1978) of the Gordon Research Conference series 'Drug Carriers in Medicine and Biology'​, his directorships of two NATO Advanced Studies Institute series: 'Drug Targeting'​ and 'Vaccines'​ (1981-1999), his founding of the 'Liposome Advances'​ conference series (1991-2015), and his position of Professor Emeritus at University College London.

Following a PhD in the molecular biology study of prostate cancer in London at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund (1977), Bob spent 10 years in Canada at the National and Alberta Research Councils researching animal viruses, breast cancer molecular biology, plant engineering and engineering microorganisms for biomass to biofuel conversions. Research in Australia at CSIRO for understanding designing and developing recombinant antibodies for therapeutic and diagnostic reagent applications and device design and production; followed by application of bionanotechnology innovations to diagnostic and therapeutic system improvements, and commercialisation. Working with human health providers, government, commercial and research organisations spanning Indonesia, Malaysia, UK, Thailand, Taiwan, Europe including Italy, USA and Chile. Evolved spinout companies from CSIRO including EvoGenix Pty Ltd and its subsequent embodiments. As commercial and scientific director of Nanotechnology Victoria, identified, developed and commercialised the nanotechnology research from stakeholder universities; a key focus being medical nanotechnology for inexpensive and community/personal use diagnostic devices. In 2009 start-up CEO for Bioectors Pty Ltd., after establishing Quintain Consulting Pty Ltd (QC) for diagnostic and bionanotechnology services covering research, evaluation and management including the application of nanotechnology for improved testing and diagnostic performance and most recently for the conversion of biomass to bioenergy (biofuel). Also advises on commercialisation strategies, techno economic assessments and deal-making to local, federal and overseas governments, universities and companies.

Fabrizio Pirri was completed his degree in Nuclear Engineering and PhD in Physics of Matter. Presently he is Professor of Physics of Matter at Polytechnic of Turin. Since 2004 he is Coordinator “LAboratory of Miniaturized Electro Technologies for the Analysis and Research (LATEMAR)”, for the realization at the Polytechnic of Turin of a National Center of Excellence for micro- and nanotechnologies applied to genomics, proteomics and biotechnologies. His research activity is reported in more than 200 articles published in international journals. From March 2011 he joined to Italian Institute of Technology.

Maria Lindau, Licensed Psychologist and PhD, is associate professor at the Dept. of Psychology, Stockholm University, Sweden. She has about 20 publications, and 15 years of experience as neuropsychologist and researcher at memory clinics at Karolinska and Uppsala university hospitals. She is Bachelor of Arts in History, French and Political Science.

Professor Jagat R. Kanwar has received his PhD in 1992 from Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, India. Before joining Deakin University, Australia, in 2006, he was a Senior Scientist in the University of Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand. Dr Kanwar, group leader of the Nanomedicine-Laboratory of Immunology and Molecular Biomedical Research has a national and international reputation in investigating fundamental and applied molecular aspects of cancer and chronic inflammation. Currently, his major field if interest are nanomedicine based delivery systems for therapy/diagnosis, biotechnology, protein engineering of therapeutic proteins and find their mechanism of actions. He has successfully completed his Administrative responsibilities as Head of Nanomedicine in the Centre for Biotechnology and Interdisciplinary Biosciences (BioDeakin), Institute for Technology & Research Innovation (ITRI), Deakin University. He is serving as an editorial member of several reputed journals in the field of Biochemistry, Nanobiotechnology, Nanomedicine, Cancer and Immunology. He has authored more than 85 research articles, 12 book chapters and 2 books, and secured more than 10 patents. He is the Member of Editorial Board for 12 international journals and a nominated member of more than 18 national and international societies including American Nano Society and American Society of Nanomedicine.

Professor of Pathophysiology Marina Zueva graduated from the Lomonosov Moscow State University (Physiology of Higher Nervous Activity), received her Ph.D. and Biol.Sci.D. from Moscow Helmholtz Research Institute of Eye Diseases. Currently, she is the Head of the Division of Clinical Physiology of Vision at the Moscow Helmholtz Research Institute of Eye Diseases. Zueva is a member of International Society on Clinical Electrophysiology of Vision (ISCEV), European Association on Vision and Eye Research (EVER), European Society of Retina Specialists (EURETINA). She has published over ten peer-reviewed papers in English (over 86 in Russian) and presented over 65 topics at international conferences.

Dr. Xing-Jie Liang got Ph.D at National Key Laboratory of Biomacromolecules, Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He finished his postdoc with Dr. Michael M. Gottesman (Deputy Director of NIH, USA) for 5 years at Laboratory of Cell Biology, Center for Cancer Research, National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland. Then, he worked as a Research Fellow at Surgical Neurology Branch, NINDS (National Institute of Neurological Diseases and Strokes, NIH) for 2 years. In 2007, he was an Assistant professor at Department of Radiology, School of Medicine, Howard University. Dr. Liang currently is deputy director of Key Laboratory for Biomedical Effects of Nanomaterials and Nanosafety, Chinese Academy of Sciences and a principal investigator at Laboratory of Controllable Nanopharmaceuticals, CAS Center for Excellence in Nanoscience and National Center for Nanoscience and Technology of China. Dr. Liang is a founder member of International Society of Nanomedicine, member of American Association for Cancer Research, American Society of Cell Biology, American Chemical Society, and deputy director of nanoscale biomaterials committees of Chinese Society of Biomaterials and Chinese Society of Micro/Nanoscale Sicene and Technology.

His research interests are in elucidating mechanisms to improve nanomedicinal bioavailability by nanotechnology in vitro and in vivo, and novel strategies to increase therapeutic effect on cancers and infective diseases. Developing drug delivery strategies for prevention/treatment of infective diseases and cancers are current programs ongoing in Dr. Liang's lab based on understanding of basic physio-chemical and biological processes of nanomedicine. Most protocols are employed for delivering therapeutic molecules (chemical compounds, peptides or nucleic acids) to actively target cells or tissues in vivo to enhance drug safety and efficacy.

Dr. Hui-Fen Wu currently working as a professor in National Sun-Yat Sen University. She obtained PhD from University of Texas at Austin, USA (1994). She was a faculty in Tamkang University for 10 years. In 2006, she joined National Sun Yat-Sen University. Her research work is focused on applications of various nanomaterials for pathogenic bacteria analysis and cancer study. She has been served as editorial board members for 15 journals. To date, she has published 205 scientific journals, 250 conference presentations, 13 book chapters and 7 patents. In National Sun Yat-Sen University, she is also associated with the Doctoral Degree Program in Marine Biotechnology (2009~), Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (2008~), Institute of Technology and Medical science (2011~) and Center for Cross Research (2011~). She also serves as the editorial board member in Journal of Analytical Methods in Chemistry, American Journal of Analytical Chemistry, Journal of Biotechnology & Biomaterials, Journal of Biochips & Tissue Chips and Chemistry (the Chinese Chemical Society, Taipei) and also as an associate editor in Journal of Integrated OMICS. She is currently the director of Taiwan Society for Mass Spectrometry and delegated as review committee member of the Expensive Instrument Project, National Science Council.

Her research work has focused on Nano-Biomedicine using Nano-based Mass Spectrometric techniques. Basically, an analytical chemist, she has diversified her research interests to the application of Nano-based biological mass spectrometry in bacteriology, mycology, biotechnology, oncology and molecular biology. Her research diverges into areas such as proteomics, lipidomics, glycomics and metabolomics.

Dr. Osman Adiguzel graduated from Department of Physics, Ankara University, Turkey in 1974 and received PhD- degree from Dicle University, Diyarbakir-Turkey. He studied at Surrey University, Guildford, UK, as a post doctoral research scientist in 1986-1987, and his studies focused on shape memory alloys. He worked as research assistant, 1975-80, at Dicle University and shifted to Firat University in 1980. He became professor in 1996, and he has already been working as professor. He published over 50 papers in international and national journals; He joined over 100 conferences and symposia in international and national level as participant, invited speaker or keynote speaker with contributions. He served the program chair or conference chair/co-chair in some of these activities.
